If you are a huge celeb buff like myself, obsessed with all things entertaining, then you were up past 11:00 pm last night engrossed in all things Oscar! The Academy Awards went off without a hitch. The stars stepped out yesterday evening with enough glam for all of Hollywood to see. Every year we look forward to award season and what the stars are going to bring to the table in the fashion department but I don't think anything ever fully prepares us for the red carpet of Oscar night!!!
From Jennifer Lawrence to Sandra Bullock, and Will Smith to Robert Deniro, celebs were dressed to the nines! As far as I was able to see from my television screen, not many disappointed last night. I know that we all have our favorites and sometimes it can be challenging to choose just one so I am going to give my choices for best dressed women and men of the evening.
Jada Pinkett-Smith
Although not a nominee, Jada showed up with husband Will by her side, and she was STUNNING! This light pink Versace number was very elegant and showed just how much class a woman can have even if she isn't the guest of honor. Congratulations on your look Jada. You are indeed a fashionista!!!
Bette Midler
Dressed like the true diva that she is, Bette almost made it as my favorite of all of the women last night! She arrived to the red carpet rocking a red floral Reem Acra design that accentuated her curves and gave her the look of class she carries so well. Bette performed for the first time at the Oscars. She did the song "wind beneath my wings."
Lupita Nyong'o
There are many words that can be used to describe this beautiful young lady, but I'm only going to use one...WINNER!!! Yes Lupita not only brought home the Oscar for her category but she takes home the fashionista of the season award if I do say so myself! Lupita was gliding down the red carpet in this light blue Prada gown that she and her stylist worked together to choose for her for the evening. Lupita has failed to disappoint one time during this awards season and I know that everyone agrees with me on that.
Leonardo Dicaprio
Leo was nomintaed last night but did not bring home the Oscar. Many were disappointed, but I'm sure Leo was proud to be nominated in a category with such prestigious actors. We all know that the talent was overflowing in that theater and he was among. He donned a black Dior tuxedo and walked the red carpet as gracious as a man could!
Matthew Mcconaughey
Matthew Mcconaughey forced all men to step their game up last night. Not only did he bring home the Oscar for for best supporting actor in Dallas buyers club, but he also accepted his award with one of the best speeches of the night. I don't know how Kevin Hart would feel though about him stealing his famous line "alright, alright, alright" but he definitely stole the show in his black & white Dolce & Gabbana tux!
Jared Leto
Jared is definitiely my top pick for best dressed male last night!! He wore an amazing Saint Laurent tux with a red bow tie, and studded buttons down his shirt. I think he showed all men that you can be classy when the show calls for it. His lovely locs didn't even hurt his look. Jared was definitely best dressed last night and he dedicated his golden statue to his mother who looked just as amazing!
Ellen Dengeneres was the hostess with the mostess at last night's Academy award show! She was hilariously funny as usual, and kept the guest alive! Ellen was in the business of breaking records yesterday and that is exactly what she did! Unofficially the best to host the show yet! (my opinion) Ellen snapped a group selfie and wanted everyone to take to twitter so that they could RT or retweet the photo. She brokedown twitter and broke the record of most retweeted photo that was once held by POTUS Barack Obama!!!! Can you believe that??? over 1.4 million retweets within an hour of posting! She also ordered pizza and had it delivered to the theater where she passed out slices on paper plates to the hungry celeb guest!! WHO DOES THAT?
