NETFLIX HAS RELEASED ITS NEW ORIGINAL SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first 6 of 12 one-hour episodes of The Get Down aired  TODAY!!!  I have taken the time to watch episode 1 so that I can provide you with some feedback and a little background.

The Get Down was created by Baz Luhrmann Romeo and Juliet (1996), Moulin Rouge (2001) and The Great Gatsby (2013).

Although based in 1970's Bronx, New York , the show boast a cast of young fresh faces some of whom you may or may not recognize from other projects. The lead actors are Shameik Moore Dope (2015), The Watsons Go To Birmingham (2013), Skylan Brooks Mister & Peete (2013), Southpaw (2015) and new comer Herizen F. Guardiola as the female lead.  There are a few recurring cast members and after doing a little research I have come to find out that Jaden Smith The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), The Karate Kid (2010).  To provide incite and give an authenticity to the project executive producer Nasir "Nas" Jones joined forces with Hip Hop icon Grand Master Flash as they were asked to come on board, among other talents.

The drama series leads with music and an energy that will captivate the audience from episode one.  From the first episode Zeke and Mylene invite you into their lives.  The daughter of a Pastor and the son of a hardworking mother, both characters seem likely to be a pair.  They attend the same school and even run the same streets, but their relationship will be tested by friends, family and the hopes of making it out of the Bronx to fulfill their dreams.  Emotionally charged Zeke is determined to prove his love to his girl by presenting a record to her at a local night club called The Inferno.  Mylene however is doing

whatever it takes to get her demo heard by DJ Malibu.  All seemed like a plan until villainous Shailon interrupts by stealing the record and leading Zeke on chase through the slums of the Bronx Borough.  Zeke, not old enough to enter The Inferno, borrows some of his friend Ra-Ra's father's clothes in attempt to look a little more sophisticated and gain entry to the club.  Trouble greets him at the door when the bouncer doesn't allow him to enter on his own.  Since he didn't have a girl on his arm he was shit out of luck.  That is until Shailon reenters the scene.

After a small scuffle Zeke and Shailon come to an agreement and Zeke is able to enter the club.  This leads to a snow ball effect of events that you will have to watch the show yourself for the full experience...

The Get Down, like many other period pieces have went all out with costume and set design to be sure the audience feels transported back in time.  The music is on point and the production is money well spent.  If you plan to watch this show with your family, no worries, The Get Down has a PG-13 rating!  Put the small children to bed and enjoy!

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills (One landed in the cuckoos nest!!!)

It should be no surprise to know that I watch every house wives franchise and that includes the real rich b*****s in Beverly Hills.  The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills  are a festive bunch of women who sometimes mistake having nice things with having class.

On last weeks episode Brandi Glanville hosted her own housewarming party which was like none I've ever been to, and I mean that in the best way.  It was quite fancy!  She invited a lot of people including her housewives cast mates.  Brandi even invited Lisa Vanderpump.  Lisa turned down the invitation originally because of her an Brandi's broken friendship.  The last time the ladies were together they talked a little and Brandi felt she wanted Lisa to come because she wants Lisa back as a friend.  Anyone who watches the show regularly knows Lisa is not that easy to befriend again!  Once she feels you have crossed her it is a challenge to win her back.  That is why it was shocking to see Lisa show up to Brandi's house and with a gift in hand.  Lisa made it very clear that she was still not fully sure about Brandis intentions and that baby steps might be a start for them if anything.  Brandi being a little aggressive pushes the issue and it isn't hard to tell when Lisa becomes a little annoyed.  The party at Brandi's house was successful and the drama seemed to not be.


When the Ladies got together again for a charity event at PUMP, Lisa's newest restaurant  there was some tension when Brandi was still trying to reach out to Lisa.  Brandi thought it would be funny to extend Lisa an

olive branch, but she literally ripped a branch off of the tree in Lisa's establishment.  Lisa was furious, but she laughed it off because she was clearly uncomfortable and did not want to cause a scene at her event.  Brandi invited Lisa to lunch and the two were able to apologize and come to some kind of understanding of their differences.  I think that it is good to see them move forward, but anytime you agree to move forward you should not keep being petty, nor should you be pushy.  Lisa and Brandi are cordial at this point so all seems to be well with the group. 


BUT BRANDI'S WORK IS NEVER DONE

This weeks episode...


Lisa Rinna, Brandi Glanville, Eileen Davidson, and Yolanda Foster are out to dinner together.  They are all enjoying themselves.  Brandi updates the on her lunch with Lisa V and everyone is pleased to here that they seem to be moving forward in a positive manner.  Things didn't get weird until the conversation turned to Eileen talking about how her and her husband met and got together.  Eileen met her husband on the set of Days of our lives which is the show she is on.  Brandi was annoyed because she knew that Eileen and her husband were both married when they got together.

  Eileen explained everything and Brandi appeared to understand and even respect Eileens story, but then I think the wine kicked in.  Brandi got into super fan mode and was obsessing over Eileen begging her to act out a scene from her show.  Eileen was not down for that and dismissed the idea.  Brandi was not happy and after several threats of throwing a drink on Eileen she ACTUALLY DID IT!!!  I think me and everyone else watching are still trying to figure out WHY??  It made no sense.  That chick is looney.  All of the women were shocked.  It was so strange.


The next time Brandi saw Eileen she apologized and gave her a necklace as a peace offering.  They were able to move forward, but Eileen has made it clear that she cannot trust a cuckoo clock!!!  LOL (my words not hers)

Atlanta Exes (Could there be peace???)

If you have been following VH1's latest ratchet reality tv show like I have then you are very aware that I am referring to Atlanta Exes.  This show is following the lives and "friendships" of five celebrity Exes which include Tameka Foster, Torrei Hart, Sheree Buchanan, Christina Johnson, and Monyetta Shaw.  All of these women were once married to major celebrities, and if you are watching LIKE I AM then you know exactly who.  Before I refresh your memories let's get into this.


Last night's episode began where last weeks episode left off.  Torrei and Tameka got into a huge argument last week where both ladies said some nasty things to one another!!  It almost seemed as if they were worst enemies.  Tameka came for Torrei's skin flaws and Torrei came for Tameka's parenting skills and even told her to "kill yourself" and to "lay in a coffin."  Now most people watching probably thought not much of the comments because everyone know's that 'kill yourself' has unfortunately just become a figure of speech in today's society.  It is sad but true.  When that phrase is thrown around it is most likely not meant in the literal sense.


ANYWHO... Christina and the other ladies were able to convince the two, along with them all, to come together for mediation from a third party.  They decided to retreat and spend a weekend together where they had lessons from a life coach.  With all of the drama, hate, and accusations going around I have to say that it was much needed!  The life coach was there, but to me it seemed as if the women quickly realized that they were able to get past the situations and accepted there faults in the arguments.  Everything seemed pretty petty at the end of the day anyway.

It was refreshing to see the ladies come to an understanding as quickly as they did.  Tameka expressed her contemplating suicide which is why Torrei's comments hurt her the most. Torrei admitted that she aims to hurt people in arguments but never intended for Tameka to feel like she wanted her to commit suicide.  I guess that's a reason we should all at least TRY to think before we say things.  I knooooowwwwww that is a challenge for me sometimes lol. ESPECIALLY in a heated situation. I'm working on it tho :)  I was honestly planning to stop watching this show after last week, but last nigh's episode reeled me back in...

Christina Johnson is my favorite cast member.  She is really down to earth, and seems to be a good friend. She is the voice of reason in the group.  I say that because she speaks up when necessary and she listens to all sides of the story and calls everyone out on their SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA as a friend should!  Not only that she is gorgeous!!!  I felt bad that Christina wanted to stop dating Willie because of he and Monica's previous encounter.  Christina and Willie seemed to have really hit it off!  I can understand the discomfort or awkwardness of knowing about his past and being friends with Monica even, but I would let the past be just that.  If Monica didn't have a problem with it and she gave her blessing then move forward is what I say.  He may have been her treasure! lol

Hopefully these ladies can at least remain cordial.  It would be nice to watch a show where black women are being portrayed in a more positive light.  NOW I AM NOT SAYING that I don't enjoy ratchet reality tv BECAUSE I DO!  I'm just saying that is not the only thing I want to see.  Some of these people are actually trying to better themselves and make negative issues into positive ones.  These producers need to be more considerate of that.  People will watch positive tv if they provide it!

Battle of the fur! (Vh1's Hollywood Exes go at it!)

On episode 1 & 2 of the third season of Hollywood Exes we find ourselves still listening to Mayte and Nicole go at it in what I'd like to call "The Battle of The fur!"

We all found out in season 2 that Mayte was anti fur and team vegan.  So it wasn't surprising to see her so upset when Nicole's friend and her daughter showed up to a gathering wearing their fur hand bags and vest.  Mayte feels that she was ambushed and that the women showed up that way to provoke her. That caused Mayte to pick a fight with Nicole and storm out of her house allegedly breaking a large sugar dish before she exited.  Mayte denies that she purposely broke the dish, but as a viewer imma just say that I don't believe her! She claims to have knocked the dish over accidentally when she grabbed her purse off of the counter.  Anyone with two eyes can see that she already had her purse in her posession before she went into the house.

The other ladies are having trouble trying to bring the drama to an end because both Nicole and Mayte are two strong headed indviduals who refuse to apologize and accept their fault in the situation. Drea invites the girls to dinner in hopes to mediate them but it doesn't seem to work out so favorably. Tempers flare and emotions run high.  Sheree and Mayte end up in a screaming match over an event where Mayte didn't show up for Sheree.  Mayte defends herself by saying she is working on building a family and throws a lil shade at Sheree saying "everyone doesn't have Will Smith money" because she is a single mother who has to work hard.  This sparks a higher level of intensity and pisses Drea off!!! She exits the table followed by Mayte, who seems to make a pattern of running away.  When Drea returns the ladies continue their talk in a respectable manner while Jessica and Shanna console Mayte outside.

All of this drama began about fur and ended on a whole other topic!!! These ladies definitely know how to make something out of another thing because I didn't know if PETA or the Pinkett-Smiths were going to show up! I'm just saying

Basketball Wives? *FOUL ON THE PLAY*

this is officially my very first blog about the #BBWLA

I was not able to express myself the way I cared to about this show because of my Lent fast from social media.  NOW I AM READY  TO SPILL THE TEA!!!

This season of #BBWLA has been strangely entertaining.  Jackie Christie and the girls have kept the drama flowing like a consistent river.  I was surprised to hear that the last episode was the season finale because I did not collect that bit of info in advance.  With that said I am going to give my opinion on this season's finale.  I am not here to judge but only to voice my opinion and maybe entertain my good people at the same time.  I think that we should just get to it!

Let me start by saying that Jackie Christie must retire A.S.A.P.  I am a fan of the show since day one and have never enjoyed her presence.  I KNOW that I am not the only viewer who feels this way.  I must admit that I have hung with the older crowd since I was a kid, but I have NEVER allowed a childish adult to influence my life in such a negative way.  I think that Jackie is very manipulative, arrogant, and last but not least a SOCIOPATH!  I am almost certain that I am not the only one who believes that she instigates fights, hands out lies, and passes on drama to everyone she proclaims to be friends with on the show.  

Draya has finally grasped the concept of Mrs. Christie's ways.  Jackie is a clear example of a woman who wants to be a boss without boss credentials.  I personally blame VH1 for even giving her the time of day.  This blog post is not meant to get into specifics because if you watch the show... #nuffsaid

I'm going to make a long story short on this one only because I have been up all night, and now I need some time to myself.  VH1 should recast all of #BBWLA, give Draya her own show, and Malaysia should co-star.

Jackie needs to move far on, Sundy and Brittish should vacate the scene, and go on about the lateness they have carried through these awful episodes.  (keep that bull in their own real time.) Brandy should stay behind the camera and take care of herself, and Jackie's daughter ( I refuse to remember her name) should intervene on her simple ass momma and convince her that she needs to keep up with her meds.  

I will probably seem like a jerk for this post but I am very okay with that!  I feel like I spoke on this season as well as it deserves to be discussed.   #BBWLA may still be a highly rated show but I feel like it's time is up just like those Miami NOTS!!!  When all else fails head back to the drawing board.  Vh1 we love you but we need you to get it together...put our East Coast girls on TV #BBWNY #BBWNJ #BBWPHILA what's up????
